Must Heather choose between her talent and a man who might be her one-and-only?

When Heather Samis moves in next door, she and Tanner Wolfe quickly become best friends. They help each other through high school and college, date other people, and write letters during their time apart. Heather passionately dreams of becoming an artist, while Tanner has his life mapped out as an executive at his father’s software company. Their friendship is too important to let romance get in the way.

Then the impossible happens, and the invisible line between friendship and love is blurred. But Heather has seen her mother give up a promising artistic talent to raise ten children and to serve others at church, and she is determined not to sacrifice her own talent.

Her beliefs shaken, Heather is faced with a decision that will change her life forever. She desperately wants to allow herself to love her best friend and become a mother to their children, yet how can she forget her lifelong dream of succeeding in the art world? And if she does choose love, can she be truly happy without the art that is as much a part of her as breathing? There seems to be no way to succeed in both. Or is there?

Where I Belong Heather Story Spinoff from This Time Forever Mickelle Story edition by Rachel Ann Nunes Religion Spirituality eBooks

Being a painter myself but also a mother and wife, plus having a part-time job, I totally understood Header's feelings about her career as a painter and as a future wife and mother. All the doubts and confusion going through her head were very real. I loved the way Rachel Ann Nunes describes the atmosphere at the gallery and at the place where the students lived and study. And how the protagonists made their choices based on their faith and love. I enjoyed this book greatly, and didn't want it to end!

good read. you really did not giving you to read the previous book, because the author does a good job of keeping you abreast of what happened before, but all of the books were good, so you might want to read them
I have read quite a few of Rachel's books. She is a very talented writer. I enjoyed this book so much. It is a story of the real life choices a young girl is offered between love and marriage vs. fulfilling her passion for art and painting using her God-given talent. Although I am long past being a "young girl" I was drawn in to Heather's drama with Tanner. The book brought out my tender side and I was a bit emotional at times when she finds her answers. Emotional responses when reading books by contemporary authors are becoming few and far between in this cynical and difficult world. That's why this book is so refreshing.
Really enjoyed this book! As always Nunes provides captivating characters with very real dillemas. "Where I Belong" was great for gaining perspective on keeping things in balance with family and the skills and talents you love.
Rachel has always been one of my favorite authors, I have every book she has published and re-read them over and over, I even have some on my tablet. This is one of those stories you know you have things you need to do (sleep) but can't put down.
The author has the characters so vivid that the reader remains within the lines of the story and the emotions of the characters as they address different and difficult situations.
Rachel Ann Nunes actually makes you feel the character's distress. Her love of painting. You feel her sadness and the fullness she feels when she succeeds. You become the character.
I love her books and this is one that follows one from a series even though it is not a series. Good reading and great story.
